Hello Everyone. I am new here but not new to the world of living with Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Type 2. I was refered here by someone at Friends of Quinn. I haven't worked since 2002 due to my depression and in 2003 I was put in the hospital for six days and finally in 2004 was diagnosed with bipolar type 2. I'm on four medications for it plus one for my thyroid. It's been a struggle since late 2000, early 2001. 9/11 didn't help me much. Even though I didn't know anyone killed in the tragedy it still effected me a lot. Now things are much better. I finally have the right medications and have been pretty stable for sometime. I live with my parents and I'm 31 but these days it seems to be very common espically with the current economy. I used to work with children and it was fine for awhile but the place I worked at was trying to find ways to either get me to quit or fire me. Obviously they couldn't fire me but made it impossible for me to work there any longer. I no longer have an internest in working with children or at all at the moment. I am on SSI and SSDI. Luckly i have a great family who supports me a lot. I'm not all the way recovered and may never be. But I know what I can do to try to make my days better even when it's really hard to. I have learning disabilities as well.

Hi Emily,
I also have a host of problems. Diabetes, depression, thyroid. But I am going to another doctor so hopefully I can get back on the right track. May I ask a question!!! What is "Friends of Quinn". I never read of it. I am new to this website so hopefully we can all help each other out since we are in the "same boat" so to speak. Take care
Maceymom, Friends of Quinn is a site for people with learning disabilities, or differences. Merely Me also writes on that site.
Emily, it's nice to meet you, I'm happy to hear of your progress and glad you came to this site. I'll bet you will be able to help people here through your experience, and in return, hopefully get some help and support.
