Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 06:40 PMThanks, Merely Me!
I've been wound up on healtcare reform for a long time now. We HAVE to cast informed votes, or we could end up in even more trouble.
I know what you mean about multiple health issues. UGH! I'm dealing with depression, Migraines, heart disesase, diabetes, and more. If I didn't already have isurance, I'd really be sunk because nobody would insure me. And the insurance companies are getting away with more and more in the way of limiting treatments and increasing deductibles and copayments. They're very close to practicing medicine with the way they refuse tests and treatments and limit the number of doses of meds they'll cover.
Oops! I'll step down from my soapbox now. LOL!

What A Difference
rar1951
Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 09:13 PMThanks Terri. What a difference between the candidates! The Republican perspective of smaller government, no taxes, and making sure the rich keep their money, really comes through in McCain's comments. You have to vote your pocketbook. I think that there are a lot more underemployed like me, than there are fat cats. Health care (especially for children) needs to be universal. I am envious of Canada and England for their universal health programs. However greed and the AMA lobbyists will never allow us to have what they have. rar1951

You're welcome, and thanks for commenting!
Don't be envious of Caqnada and England. I've worked with patients in both countries. Have seen people in Canada with severe, unexplained head pain wait over six months for an MRI. They could have died in that period of time. Getting to see a specialist in England can be unbelievably difficult. Our system IS terribly dysfunctional, but so are theirs, just in different ways.

You are so right about voting. It is our duty to be informed and vote.
And yes, this election could be the pivotal point in our country.
I have always felt that voting is important and our vote counts.
Thank you for this important message.

I am so glad you posted about this. This election is so very critical to what will happen with health care. I suffer from both my mood disorder as well as Multiple Sclerosis so...yeah...I am concerned about the state of our health care system right now.
Great post!
