I believe that there is a great mind body connection and I have often wondered what my depression and anxiety may do to my body over time.  Are there any other risk factors for getting osteoporosis?  I am in my mid forties and wondering what I can do to prevent it.

Hi, MM!

I hear you on wondering wht depression may do to our bodies over time. That's one reason I take at least 30 minutes for myself every morning. I use the time to pray, meditate, take stock of both my body and mind, and center myself for the day.

Yes, there are risk factors that we can modify. Diet and exercise are big. Not smoking. It's also important to read the prescribing information for our prescriptions very carefully. Some medications can impact bone density and increase risk of fracture.

OsteoporosisConnection.com has a great section on osteoporosis prevention HERE.

Thanks!
Teri
