Hello, everyone!
Health care reform is a big concern for many of us with depression. Health care and insurance coverage have been issues of great concern and even fear for us. We know that the time has come for change and reform, but what will reform bring? Will the changes be good for ever...

The pre-printed letter to my senator said:
" ... ensure access to affordable health coverage"
WRONG. It's affordable health CARE that we need. Giving everyone coverage that they can afford isn't going to help anyone if there isn't enough CARE available.
No one dies from the lack of insurance. They die from the lack of care.
And, because you seem to be the type who needs this explained, the only way to bring down costs while ensuring adequate amounts of care is by increasing the amounts of doctors and clinics and nurses and nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Telling the AMA to pound sand and building more medical schools is a good place to start. And allowing nurse practitioners and physician assistants to hang out their own shingle would make a big difference in increasing access to affordable CARE.
