abilify works for only 6 weeks

welbutrin keeps me barely stable and the doctor added abilify twice now about 6 months apart  and it only works for about 6 weeks and stops.  has anyone else had this experience ??

What is Abilify? I would assume that any medication you are taking should work longer than six weeks. Did you address your concerns with your doctor, maybe this medication is not the right one for you. I would recommend you discuss it with a professional.

This one really bothers me cause as far as I know abilify only works with certain SSRI'S. Wellbutrin is not an ssri. It is bupropian and in some small way may act like an ssri it is not. My recomendation is ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist.

 

May I ask what dosage the wellbutrin is?

and how long have you been taking it?

i take 300 mg bupropion and 2 1/2 mg abilify

it works real good for about 6 weeks and stops

doctor let me try it again at christmas time and i had best holidays in years

i work closly with my MD

Thats really not that unusuall since alot of people seem to have issues with antidepressants that stop working after a period of time. Sounds like you should be talking to your doctor.
