I spent the past two nights in the mental ward at the hospital. I really hated it there, I was so happy when they let me go home. But my doctors were worried about my safety, so they sent me there. They raised my dosage of cymbalta and gave me something new to get me going in the morning (I cant reme...

Oh my...I have been wondering about you.  Maybe the increase in meds will help you.  I sure hope so.

What was your experience like there in the hospital?

I am wishing the best for you.  Thank you for telling us what happened to you and coming back to write.

I really hated being at the hospital. They concentrated on watching you and keeping you safe more than therapy. I lost a lot of weight because I couldn't choke the food down and I hardly slept because they checked on you every fifteen minutes, and the nurses had very loud conversations all night. There was supposed to be group therapy every few hours, dealing with a different topic, but they barely followed the schedule. It was aggravating because you were sitting there doing absolutely nothing, and the only thing you had to look forward to were the crap on this schedule which usually didn't happen unless it was a meal, or visiting hours. Every one else was at least ten years older than me, which was kind of hard. I'm just glad they let me out after only a few days.

    Hi,

I'm glad you were able to go home - it doesn't sound like your stay in hospital helped you at all! I really hope the increase in medication does, sometimes you just have to overcome the added side-effects. I'm also really glad to hear you saying that you can trust yourself to be safe, I mean people can watch you all you want but if you decide you want to self-harm or commit suicide there is always a way so it's way better that you feel capable of taking care of yourself. I really hope everyone else in your life sees that since being in hospital sounded like a pretty negative experience. Have you any plans now that you are out? How is life in general?

Just let me add that I'm glad to see you back. I like how you try to help others when you can. That's it, pretty much, just good to see you and I hope you stick around.

I'd tell you to eat something but I don't want to sound like real life people! :)  You hear it enough, still... :)  Hope your days go better.

Im glad youre back in your own environment. I have been in hospital and its not nice, as  you rightly say no sleep because the nurses talk all night ! It will take time for the meds to kick in. I see you have a cat? Im a mad Cat person, have always loved them. They are very attuned to emotions. I hope that you still have that lovely cat in the picture. Snuggle him and feel the healing. Good to see you back.
