helping deal with it

By darkangel Friday, May 15, 2009

i and my dad are bipolar

he however drinks to apease his mania

and then he gets depressed or rather drinks when he is

he won't go see a professional

my aunt his sister has depression

so did their father my grandfather

my aunt is taking prozak

my grandfather died alone in a small apartment

he was always drunk

as for me i don't drink

i just work on disabling my symptoms

it is not very easy

i have a huge bag of tricks  to use

some are; imagery, stop signs, positive self talk, let all the voices be me and speak to myself like it is me, pray, write, read, play brain games,

i like your self need to get help dealing with it

alittle support never hurt like all the doctors and psychotherapists, some family, and you your self

feeling good about yourself is important

doing positive things is very important

staying on top of things is also very important like paying bills, and getting things done and keeping them in order like keeping your room and/or house neat and clean and organized

these are all good exercises for better mental heallth

it is not always possable it seems but...why can't it be done? i know the feeling of not being able to do anything like at all execpt sleep--sometimes you just can't so this is when you should just crash and worry later

i hate it when i can't do any thing

well good luck

I really admire how you have kept so positive through all that you have been and are going through.  I like your list of things that help.  I am hoping others will stop by to read your list.  I think we all have our ways to try to survive.  You do what it takes.

Thank you again for writing here.  You help others when you do.
