I just lost a German Shepherd/Husky mixed female dog. Her name was Princess and she was 9 years old. I had to have her put to sleep because her pancreas failed and she only weighed 37lbs. She has been gone from me since 9/4/08 and I still an having a hard time getting over that, missing her so much. I am now on 2 different medications to help me deal with the loss of my daughter (dog). I feel for anyone who has lost a pet.

Hi Michele:

I am so very sorry that you are suffering this way. I have lost many pets over many decades and it never gets any better. Your pain will lessen over the coming years, but you will always have a very tender spot for Princess. Just remember, we only hurt because we love so deeply. She was a wonderful gift, wasn't she?

Princess was not only a gift from God, but she was my daughter...Thank you for your response to my comment...

Hi Michelle,

I just wanted to tell you that I'm very sorry for your loss.  I just read your post, and I know it's been a little while, but actually not very long.  Just know that Princess is still always with you.  I lost my cat Samantha, who was like a soul mate to me, almost 15 years ago, and I still grieve for her.  I have other pets, but I will never stop missing her, but it does get a little easier as time goes by.  I just wanted to give you some support and acknowledge your pain. I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Take care,

My beagle Isabella passed away on my lap Saturday on the way to the hospital.  My husband was driving and I was in the back seat with her.  She could not breath and her heart stopped.  She had ITP which was triggered by a tick bite.

My heart actually hurts and I have a knot in my stomach.  We miss her so much and just cannot believe within less than two weeks she went from playing ball and jumping around to dead.  It really is surreal.

She will always be a part us always!

Thanks,
