Dear Mcfarcal,

In reading your post I just had a thought... I do not know if you asked this question on the bipolarconnect portion of this healthsite/website.

There may be others in the bipolar community who may be able to best address your questions.  I share this as my own experience with Celexa is for depression only and still works extremely well for me, even after seven years or so.

I do know that with any medication, there can be what is called the "refractory reponse" which essentially means that if you are taken off a medication, if you are put back on later, it will not have the same effect.  This appears to be an aspect of what your concerns are.

I just share that asking this same information on the bipolar side of this website may be advantageous in giving you the insight you are looking for regarding the reaction to medications and bipolar.

I hope this may be an option or another channel to pursue.  Keep us posted, if you will, on how you are doing and if we may be useful to you.

My very best thoughts are with you,

Kimberly Tyler

I found that Cymbalta had more GI problems and dizziness for me. Lexapro seems a bit better so far.

Hi,

Your article really struck me because I myself have suffered from depression for about 4 years now. About 3 months ago I started using a device my friend told me about called an electronic cranial stimulator, produced by fisherwallace. It is very simple to use and has made me the happy person again that I was before I was depressed. I love life now. Hope that helps. I believe the website is fisherwallace.com

Best,
