manic state

By jpw2008 Sunday, November 28, 2010

hi everybody

I had a manic state

I would rather be in a depressive state

I can manage to deal with it

its the best of the two evils

My mind races faster with a manic state

I have that been here before thinking

which is scary

I think its a part of my depression

im wondering if its my thought process

thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,

sounds like the monkey is jumping around in your mind lately.  (one way people describe it)

How would you describe what it is like in there?  Can you put a picture to how it feels or what it is doing in your mind?

For me, I describe it like a pinball game. My thoughts are the ball. The ball is going crazy fast bumping everywhere in there nonstop like in a pinball game.

that's how mine feels in those states. It is uncomfortable for sure.

Take a walk.  Long walk.  In nature.  Sit by water.  Slow mind and body down. Write pages and pages of every thought that comes. take a nap.  slow music. camomile  tea.  valerian.

make list of three goals for the day and do those three.

Last resort take ativan or other sedative is what I do.

put those monkeys back in the basket.

Hi Jon

I was unaware that you had times when you felt manic.  Is this something you have discussed with your therapist?  Are there any triggers you know about?

Just wanted to check in on you to see how you are feeling now and if this mood has passed.

hi mm

I think its due to trauma

I get afraid that someone might hurt me even if there are no indications of it

I close my door in my room

I dont think i ever did get over it

Jon
