Evaluating Your Depression: Mind, Body, and Spirit

Merely Me Health Guide

    Hey everyone!

I tried to find a soothing peaceful image for our Friday Feature.  Hope this fits the bill.

How are you all doing?  Have you survived the week okay?  I really enjoyed our discussions this week.  We got serious but we also had fun.  That is the beauty of our talks...even though we are talking about some heavy topics we can also laugh and enjoy the company of others.  I am really proud of our community here.  You are a terrific bunch of people.

    Okay...time to talk about week.

    1.  On a scale of one to ten how would you rate your week overall?

    2.  MIND (your emotions, cognitions, and general mental status)  How have you been kind to your mind?  Any improvements in mood?  Anything working for you in this realm?

    3.  BODY   How have you been kind to your physical health?  What things are working and what things are not working for you?

I have something to share in this regard.  I am really trying to do a food makeover.  I was eating so much junk that it cumulated in terrible stomach pains last week.  This was after a dinner of a cheesesteak hoagie, barbecue wings, and barbecue chips.  What was I thinking?  I was like Homer Simpson with his love for his hoagie sandwiches.  In a hoagie induced stupor..."My sandwich!"  I stopped thinking about what this stuff does to my belly.  The good news is that I have been working out consistently and I lost two pounds.  Yay! And I swear...no more hoagies!

    4.  Spirit   How have you been kind to your spirit?  What things have you done to feel at peace, re-energize, feel at one with nature, or ingest good thoughts?  Have you made any attempts to revitalize relationships or gain support?  Have you reached out of your comfort zone to grow?

Let it all hang out, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  We want to hear it all.

    Tell us about your week!
