Should you set goals for your Depression?

    Hi everybody


    I was set to post this yesterday but you know how things just happen.  Been dealing with some health issues.  My gallbladder seems to be unhappy lately.  I see surgery in my future. Here is a health lesson I have learned the hard way.  If your doctor schedules a test for you go in and do it.  I was supposed to get a HIDA scan for my gallbladder months ago but I was feeling better and decided not to.  So guess whose gallbladder is acting up now?   Over the holidays I was at the urgicare.  I need to practice what I preach and see the doctor when I am supposed to.  This is one of my new year's resolutions.

    My question for you is...


    What is your primary goal for this year?  See how I am carefully avoiding the "resolution" word.  Do you think it is achievable?

    • Member Donna-1 asks an intriguing question in one of her recent posts.  She asks, How would we define success?  I think this is an excellent topic and I hope our other members will join this discussion.
    • Do you suffer from noise anxiety?  I have developed anxiety over certain noises and it doesn't get talked about very often, but I have a feeling I am not alone in this.  If you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks related to noise pop on over to the anxiety site and tells us your experience.  It may help someone else going through the same thing.
    • Do you use an iPod, iPad, iPhone, or other mobile devices?  If so...there are some cool apps to help people with anxiety.  Yes we live in a technological age and this technology can now be used to help those of us who suffer from anxiety or a mood disorder.  Had to state in a comment that apps are not to replace your doctor, therapist, face to face interactions with others.  Apps are simply something extra which may help you de-stress, chart your mood, or teach you relaxation techniques.  I use them all the time and they are very helpful for me.
    • If you have a child with special needs such as ADHD or autism, you may wonder what causes some of their behaviors.  I have written a post to help answer this question based upon my personal experience parenting my son.  Head on over to the ADHD site to find out more.
    • Winter is the time when many people may experience dry skin.  If that isn't bad enough, acne sufferers have to deal with a double whammy of acne combined with dry flaking skin.  If you have dry skin and acne you may want to read my post on MySkinCareConnection to find out what you can do.
