Merely Me Health Guide
  • Hi everybody

I want to give you the links to a lot of great posts from our community here on MyDepressionConnection and beyond.  As always I want to encourage you to write a sharepost if you have not not already done so.  And please do comment on other's posts.  It can feel very lonely if you put yourself out there and nobody responds.  I try the best I can to get around to everyone but I am just one person and I need help from you guys to give that support to one another.

A special thanks to members Judy, Donna, Lyra and others who take time to reach out to all our members.  You are very appreciated!

Just a quick reminder about spammers and scammers.  For all the regulars here you already know about my intolerance of spam.  I wrote up an article to give you the basics of how to spot a scammer on the sites. If I have anything to say about it, such practices will not be tolerated on MyDepressionConnection.  This is a support community and not a place to market or sell your therapy, coaching, books, teleconferences, and the like.  It is also not a place for grandstanding, wooing members with miracle cures or grandiose claims. I will continue to try my hardest to make this community safe for all.  If you have any trouble with someone who tries to scam you on this site or through our on-site email system please let me know immediately.

    And now for some links!

Thought Provoking and Inspirational Posts from MyDepressionConnection Members:

Please do take the time to read all the member post on our site.  Some people are in special need of support and your words may be just the thing to help them get through their day.  I wish I had room to list each and every member post here but as time and space permits I am limited to just a few.

    • Member Amy Jo is going to be writing about her personal experience with PTSD.  Welcome Amy!  I know we have many members who also share this disorder and we are eager to have you share your story with us.

    • Kat Hughes writes about having multiple life stressors which contribute to depression.  I think many of us can relate to this circumstance. How do we cope with things like unemployment, illness, caring for aging parents as well as our own depression?  There are no easy answers but maybe we can give such much needed support to one another.

    • Judy inspires us with a Reminder from Erma Bombeck of what is most important in life.  Thank you Judy.

On our Rheumatoid Arthritis site:  Lene Andersen, the RA community leader, has gone to a conference where she has learned of exciting news for other patients with RA.  There are new treatments, new medications, and brighter future for those with RA.  To learn more please read her latest post, The Future's So Bright:  A Good Time to Have RA.

On our Anxiety site:  A conversation with a friend about antidepressants made me want to research which medications may cause anxiety symptoms.  Your antidepressant may be helping with your depression but may be contributing to your anxiety.  There are also other medications which list anxiety or nervousness as a side effect.  To find out which medications can do this please read my article.  And please share your experience.

On our ADHD site:  Have you ever heard of a supplement called GABA?  Some use it for anxiety or depression.  Others use it to treat ADHD symptoms.  I did a lot of on-line research to come up with my personal conclusions about this supplement.  To read more please read my post, Supplements for ADHD:GABA

I hope you are all having a good Wednesday.  It is over the hump day.  Friday is almost here y'all.  Something to look forward to.  Keep writing and sharing.  We love to hear from you.
