I hope you are having a good week so far. I have some links to share with you from our site and beyond. It is always interesting to visit some of the other sites that Health Central has to offer. I have been visiting our Asthma site lately as I have developed some difficulties breathing and I am now regularly using an inhaler. You just never know when you might have some new health problem.
We will begin with some links to some MyDepressionConnection member posts for this month:
Member Donna asks some good questions about the responsibility of our doctors vs. our responsibility as a patient. What should we expect from our doctors and therapists? Continue this discussion by making a comment to her post.
Member Marishka asks about how to handle change. I think this is a good question for all of us. If you have any suggestions please comment on her post.
- Many of you are sharing good news. Caring Person has survived cancer and writes about his experience. Lyra feels lucky to be in a new relationship and Kyle writes about how his mood is improving for the better.
No matter what you are dealing with we want to hear about it. It helps to share the load. This is what community is all about. If you have never written a sharepost before why not give it a try? We look forward to hearing from you.
On our Anxiety site you may want to check out these posts:
You might think that risk taking is associated with greater stress. In some cases it may be. But I have found that taking a risk may be the cure for some types of stress. What do you think about this? Come share your thoughts in a comment.
If you worry a lot you may find my post about Generalized Anxiety Disorder helpful. I give suggestions on how to narrow down what is really troubling you and what you can do about it.
Some of you have talked about the symptom of depersonalization or feeling like you are part of a dream. These can be symptoms of something called Acute Stress Disorder. Psychologist and writer Jerry Kennard discusses what it means to have ASD.
- It is summer time and that means that some of you may have children going off to camp, perhaps for the first time. Separation anxiety can be a major issue for some children. Writer Eileen Bailey gives some helpful tips to lessen the stress of your child's camp experience.
So many links, so little time.
It is always nice to get feedback so please give a comment when you read a post to let the author know what you think. It is also a good way to become a part of the community.
Thanks for your participation!
