Mood Assessment: End of Week Wrap Up

By Merely Me Saturday, July 16, 2011

Hi everyone

Well we made it to Saturday!  Hot enough for you?  What is with this weather?  I am looking forward to autumn.

I had an exasperating morning to discover that an update to my iPad erased everything.  I am still not sure what happened but the update demanded I "restore" and it wiped all my apps and data on the apps.  Their back-up system leaves much to be desired.  Have any of you experienced this on your iPods or iPads?  They must be having issues because there is this updated article on restore alert errors. Lot of good that does me now.

The moral of the story is...stuff happens.

Now we would like to hear from you.

1.  How would you rate your mood this week on a scale of 1-10.

2.  What was the best part of this week for you?  If you say that you survived it...that counts too.

3.  What challenges did you face this week?  How did you handle them?  Are they new challenges or the same old ones?

4.  What actions have you taken this week to improve your mood, decrease your depression, or move forward with your life goals?

I hope you are all having a good weekend.  Remember to be kind to yourself.  If you don't do it...who will?

See you on Monday!

MM

This entire week so far has been pretty harsh on me. Lots of busy busy stuff and deadlines and aggravation. As well as frustration in the system. But today I was baptized and tomorrow I will be confirmed. The church is very good to me. They even got me my own personal scriptures with my name on them :)

It's a nice gift. And the Pianist is an editor so she gave me a book compiled and edited by her about her mission in Germany and her mission presidents life.

So today was the best day of the week. And one of the best experiences also. My niece cut my hair for me. That was cool I love her a lot.

And I'm alive. Disappointed, frustrated, and drained but still alive.

1. How would you rate your mood this week on a scale of 1-10.  5 I know when I move my mood will be much better

2. What was the best part of this week for you? If you say that you survived it...that counts too.   Thurdays my 7yr son and I go to the library for his sign language class. He loves it, and so do I!

3. What challenges did you face this week? How did you handle them? Are they new challenges or the same old ones?  Same stuff different day.  Nothing will be better until I move.  I handle the challenges by going on a walk or drive away from here...

4. What actions have you taken this week to improve your mood, decrease your depression, or move forward with your life goals?   By making phone calls to my counselor. We talked and on this Tues. were meeting to fill out paperwork for a SPOA and referral to Depaul.  Hopefully this will be a big step closer to getting a better place to live..

1. How would you rate your mood this week on a scale of 1-10. Maybe about a 7

2. What was the best part of this week for you? Giving my boyfriend his birthday stuff and him loving it - also having him say he wanted me there when his parents said they were taking him out for his birthday dinner, and in fact them asking me too. His mother even hugged me when she left - I've met her a couple of times now. I feel I belong.

3. What challenges did you face this week? How did you handle them? Are they new challenges or the same old ones? My boyfriend goes away Monday so I am finding that hard to face up to. I also got very annoyed and stressed because I have been spending quite a lot of time travelling to the hospital (it takes about 2hrs) for my brother, and to see my boyfriend (about 1hr and a half from my home, an hour from the hospital if transport goes well), and I have even been spending large portions of my time sleeping around my boyfriends and yet whenever I stop by at home it is like all the housechores were left for me to do (including cleaning up cat vomit). So that has been grating on me a bit... I guess I don't have to worry about that too much now cause my boyfriend will be gone for a month and I will be spending more time at home...

4. What actions have you taken this week to improve your mood, decrease your depression, or move forward with your life goals? I've been too busy just dealing with everything to spend much time on myself really... though time spent with my boyfriend (when I'm actually with him) can help my mood (especially if it is one-on-one time - his parents stayed at his place for a couple of nights so that wasn't quite as relaxing, but it's not that bad). I was planning on trying to face up to the moving on thing with volunteer work while my boyfriend is away so I have more time on my hands but my parents are returning to work and Mum asked me to spend more time with my brother in hospital so I'm not sure if that will happen now... we'll see, I guess.

I am enjoying today because the last couple of days were spent getting ready for my husband's family coming for dinner last night to celebrate his birthday.  I have to say, the birthday cake was one of my better ones - three layers, all chocolate, a chocolate sour cream frosting and rasperries on top!

The difficult part of the week was dealing with my son's anxiety attacks which came along with some psychosomatic symptoms, but he seems better now.  I think a good part of that was because he was filmed for a video that is being made to encourage businesses to hire people with disabilities.  I'm anxious to see it when it comes out.  I've been teasing him about being a movie star.

One thing I am hating is this god-awful heat!!!  It's so humid, our windows are dripping.  And we've been invaded by Japanese beetles.  My husband's been spraying our rosebushes with this stuff that has kept them away pretty well, but after 8 inches of rain the other day (!), he had to re-spray today and then discovered them in our crab trees and even way up in our maple tree where they're eating the leaves.  I guess we'll have to have the ground treated this fall to kill the larvae so they don't come back next year.  This is the third year we've been fighting them.  After the terrible winter we had, I hate to complain about the heat, but I do hate it.  On top of that, our choir has a performance outdoors on Thursday and it's still supposed to be 90 - I'm hoping we get rained out!

Now that our state has finally arrived at a budget agreement and can end this shut-down, I'm hoping the Federal government will do the same quickly - there are too many people who will suffer if this doesn't get settled.  Just having our state shut down affected all kinds of things you wouldn't give much thought to - getting your driver's license renewed, buying fishing licenses, camping in state parks - it's been a big blow to the tourist industry.

Hope everyone is having a decent week-end.

It was 107 here 2 days ago, so I empathize about the heat.  But it isn't so humid here, which helps.  Still, it is too hot to drive the car this afternoon because I can't put my hands on the steering wheel and feel my head is exploding when I get in my super-hot car (dark gray interior makes that worse.)  At least my TV is working again; it still needs work on the DVR (won't tape anything) but at least I can watch whatever is on right now.

Hi

It is hot here

I feel empty today

The world seems like a lonely lonely place

Noone wants the truth

I dont want friends

They only die or move away
