Depression Mood Assessment: How Was Your Week?

Merely Me Health Guide
  • Hi everyone

Lots going on this week!  Right now Hurricane Irene is doing her thing.  It seems to have way less of an impact than what they had been expecting but it isn't over yet.  I always feel bad for the reporters who have to go out into the storm and show what is going on.  Hopefully by Sunday we will see some sunny skies again.

If you are affected by this storm please take precautions and stay safe.

This week I learned some life lessons.  Here are some quotes to sum up what I have learned:

    • I don't have to attend every argument I'm invited to. ~Author Unknown

    • I have found some of the best reasons I ever had for remaining at the bottom simply by looking at the men at the top. ~Frank Moore Colby

    • Every wrong seems possible today, and is accepted. I don't accept it. ~Pablo Casals

    • Are you not ashamed of heaping up the greatest amount of money and honour and reputation, and caring so little about wisdom and truth and the greatest improvement of the soul? ~Socrates

    • How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one finds darkness not only in one's culture but within oneself? There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light. ~Barry Lopez, Arctic Dreams

    • We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

    • Do the right thing. It will astound your enenies and
amaze the rest. -- Mark Twain

There are many people in the world who will judge you, hurt you, make attempts to damage your psyche, your integrity, and your self esteem.  Don't ever give anyone the power to do this to you.  Keep doing good.  Keep being true to yourself and your values.  One wise thing my therapist told me long ago is, "You may not always be liked but you can be respected."
