Thanks for the laughs Merely Me - I've spent the last couple of hours on youtube watching comedy vids and it all started with that wonderful Bill Cosby one :o)
Sick and tired is certainly I relate to. I thought I had written a poem with that title, but cannot find it - the point being that it became something of a catchphrase for me in my diary entries at one time. I just felt so awful all the time, and was sick and tired of it (the definitions of sick and tired being all the ones that you described).
At the moment, my brother in hospital has to deal with being sick and tired of his situation. Though he makes continuous progress - even managing to stand the other day!!! - he is in perpetual pain and on all sorts of medications and struggles both mentally and physically. It all seems so much, but one continues on because there really are limited options as to what else one can do - don't you think?
Funny you should mention feeling better mentally when you got ill as in a virus - I tend to be like that, too. It's like my body is too focused on fighting whatever illness I have to mull over all my depressing thoughts and I get a bit of a 'break' from it. At one point I used to love getting sick for this reason. Still, I do hope you feel better soon (and hopefully the mental well being stays).
Hey Lyra!
It is good to see you.
wow...your brother is standing...that is something. What an ordeal. It must be very hard for you to watch his struggles.
Glad you liked the video...I had forgotten about how funny Bill Cosby is. Made me laugh too.
Still sick here but mentally well. I wish I could have both physical and mental wellness at the same time. That would be nice. :>)
Hope to hear more from you and others....it seems like ghost town around here lately. Come on people...we want to hear from you. I hope there are not any technical issues lately.
Thanks for your comment Lyra.
OMG - I haven't laughed this hard in I don't know when! I'm sure I saw this years ago, but as a grandparent now, it's even funnier. Here, I was the only one who thought my name was "Dammit!" Thanks so much for passing this on, Merely Me. I hope it made you feel a little bit better, too!
Speaking of funny, I just got a call I didn't answer because the caller I.D. said the caller name was "Spoofed." Yeah, I'm gonna answer that one!
Yes, there are days when I feel sick and tired of things that never seem to change. Then I have a glass of wine, LOL. Well, I guess that's when it's time to do something different, take a little break, whatever. Or go laugh at something. I am thankful that I have a sense of humor, at least.
Feel better soon!
I know right?
I had this on my computer searching for his routine on "sick and tired" and my husband had to listen to it to...he was laughing so hard he was crying. I also like his "dad is great...he gave us chocolate cake" routine.
Poor Bill Cosby...it is a shame he lost one of his son's due to just random violence. He is the icon of dads...and I can't imagine what that was like for him to lose his son. I still watch the Cosby show reruns and the Roseanne show too. Modern Family is the one I watch now for a family sitcom.
Glad that the video made you laugh. Some humor never gets old. Or maybe it gets better because we are older and can appreciate it more.
Great to see you...yes I am taking a cold pill and feeling quite cozy.
