Hi everyone   It is Friday finally.  The weekend has officially begun.   Does anybody have any special plans?   I would like to know how your week is going.  And I want to offer a special invitation to anyone who has not yet participated on our site by writing a sharepos...

My happiest moments normally come when I have achieved something. Whether it was getting a good result in an exam or assignment at school, or having performed on stage and not stuffed up a line, I get this sort of buzz because I did it right.

I also feel great when I go back to nature. Going for a bush (or wood) walk, letting myself absorb the plant and animal life around me.

Also any moment when I actually manage to connect to another person and we share 'a moment'. Whether its a joke that only I and one other person get, or the whole family is sharing a fun bantering discussion at the dinner table, or it's a quiet moment between myself and my boyfriend, these moments make me feel truly alive and 'normal' and like I can be myself and it's ok. And so I'm happy.

I like this.

Okay so achievements, nature, and true connections with others.  This is a great list!

I think my happiest times have been when I forget my troubles and allow myself to have fun.  It is hard to do sometimes.

Thanks so much for writing and commenting.  I really appreciate it.

Yes, forgetting troubles is hard... though I often find it harder to forget myself. What I mean by that is simply letting go of a need to be the responsible one, not take myself too seriously, etc and just go with the whatever is going on and let my impulses have free rein for once. That can be lots of fun - if you can truly let go.

Hi MM,

In nature, maybe swimming in a clear stream or lake. Sitting on a rock near a stream in the sun.

Being outside on a farm with chickens, goats, cats, windmills, open land

Holding babies, being with toddlers, connecting with children, seeing them happy or learning, just being, listening to their opinions and what they say , watching them interact with other children and the world

Running out on a quiet trail in nature.

Laughing with someone, sharing a connection through laughter or any emotional connection

Doing something well--hey Lyra! I think I find all these too! Things that I am competent at and having others appreciate my skills....like my tennis partner if I make a good shot...or if people find my speaking to inspire them to to make them think in a good way...

.... if someone felt a lot of joy from something I could give or do...or ease some pain or discomfort of another

Used to be with my cat Lucy! All the time... She was an angel....and now, well...yes, some moments with both Emma and Burt...the quiet, calm ones where they are purring and so happy and rubbing up against me...or frolicking and turning upside down like cats do when they feel trust and happy...

Moments with my boyfriend, talking when it seems we both feel happy and appreciative of the other...in person, sharing something in nature together...or the cats...or just calm silence...or an understanding...or finding the same thing amusing or funny

jetskiiing! now, that is fun

tennis is fun too for me

seeing humanity being kind to humanity

being a part of a group that is doing something to help

third world countries where ego is not as much present in the people and connecting though their language or through  gestures, seeing how much kindness is present and how much children are free and open, feeling the joy present, seeing the deep joy and and real emotions without pretense, feeling the sense of belonging, community, inclusion

being in Mexico or another place where money is scarce and enjoyment of each thing, interaction, moment, piece of fruit, food, music  is very rich

Marishka...

this all sounds lovely...very peaceful...beautiful scenery...I can see why you would choose these as your best mood places.

Jetskiing you say?  Now that is something I have never done and probably never will do as I am a big scaredy cat.  And I can't swim.  Is it fun?  There are many things I would like to try but my fears hold me back...like skiing for example.  It sounds fun but...I have been on those chairlifts a couple of times and almost died of fright...I am afraid of heights.

You paint wonderful word pictures....and take us along to places that some of us have never been to.  You will have to talk more about Mexico.  I have never been there.

Thanks so much for sharing Marishka and I hope you have a lovely evening.
