Tracking Weekly Depression Bests & Worsts: Tiredness, Sadness, Looking Ahead
I know...I keep changing my titles to the Friday feature. I figure that Friday is a time to cut loose and be free. Just write about whatever suits your fancy. And it is also a time to check in and let us know how you are doing.
Watched a really good movie today. I rented "The Soloist." I pretty much sobbed my way through the film. I didn't think it had the intensity of "A Beautiful Mind" but it was poignant and moving nonetheless. Some scenes were triggers for me as I grew up under the care of my mother who has schizophrenia. I knew I might have that reaction but I still wanted to see it and I am glad I did.
I guess what I walk away with after watching this movie is...you cannot change another person even when you really would like to. About the best thing you can do is continue to love them no matter what...despite their mental illness. And it is hard. I could not continue to live with my mother but I can always still love her.
So my eyes still hurt from crying but I feel good. I feel more committed to diving into life and trying to make a difference any way I know how.
