Member Medication Review: Cymbalta

By Merely Me, Health Guide Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Hello everyone!

I hope you all are having a decent week.  I don't know about you but I just can't get used to these days getting dark so quickly.  Doesn't it seem like this happens all at once?

Are you guys ready to discuss another antidepressant?  This week we will talk about Cymbalta (duloxetine HCI)!

Here are my questions for you:

1.  What was your experience like taking Cymbalta?

2.  How long did it take until it "worked" for you?

3.  What improvements did you notice?

4.  What were the side effects if any?

5.  If you quit taking this drug what was the reason?  And did you suffer from any withdrawals?

Thank you so much to everyone who participates in these discussions.  They really do help in that it is one thing to read all the medical information and quite another to hear from real people as to how the medication affected them.  Remember though, that everyone is different and will react to a particular medication in their own way.  Always consult with your doctor about whether or not a certain antidepressant is right for you.

On another note wanted to ask if there are any of you who suffer from diabetes.  Did you know there is a connection between depression and diabetes?  True.

There are studies to show that if you have depression you are more at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.  Likewise if you have diabetes you are more at risk for depression.  To find out more please read my article called,  "Diabetes and Depression:  What's the Connection?"
