Surviving Holidays with Depression: Exhaustion, Family, Favorite Aspects
We made it. We made it to Christmas. Have we all survived? Everybody intact? I know it is still the afternoon. Some of us may have to endure some more festivities including dinners and such. It is almost over I promise. But I do hope that you are enjoying some small part of the season or holidays.
I personally enjoy watching the Disney Very Merry Christmas Parade each Christmas morning on TV. You may not know this...but my santa hat has mouse ears! And I am all filled up with treats. My favorite gift I gave (I mean that santa brought) my youngest son was a triple decker carousel that plays all sorts of music and lights up. My son absolutely loves carousels so he was entranced. I knew it was the perfect gift when I saw it. But they are hard to come by! And I can't wait to try out my new super deluxe electronic keyboard. I have had my old one for like twenty years I think. It was a store model and I never got the instructions and for all these years I still never figured out all that it could do. Can't wait to play some charlie brown christmas songs on my new one.
Here are part of the lyrics to one of my favorite Christmas songs by John Lennon
So this is Christmas...
"So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young"
Okay so how have you all managed thus far? Are you hanging in there? Were there any good moments today? If not maybe they are yet to come.
I will be hanging out here until about five. Just drop on by like you did yesterday and tell us how things are going for you. If you guys like this chat idea perhaps we can do this each month.
How about something fun...
1. Favorite Xmas movie?
2. Favorite Holiday song?
3. Favorite holiday food or treat?
TAG You're it!
