By Merely Me, Health Guide Monday, January 04, 2010
There are a lot of questions asked here on My Depression Connection and I find that many of these questions are requests for resources.  In an effort to make things easier for ourselves I have compiled a list of the resources and links we most commonly give to people on this site to help address...
I need your help!

I would like to read your post, but it does not appear on the screen.  Your picture is there, and an ad, but no text.  Thank you.  Maybe you can re-post?

MM, Thank you for such a comprehensive list of resources.  I will definitely keep them on hand and use what I need.  You often refer to various sites here on health central, but I don't know all the various support sites available for various conditions.  Is it possible to provide a list or refer me to a directory which provides this information.  I sure would appreciate it.  Thanks.  Gina

Hey there!

Can you tell me what specific resources you need?  or are you just wanting a list of Health Central resources?  Let me know and I will get on it!

Yeah, I was looking for support sites.  Then I did some investigating myself on HealthCentral.  And wouldn't you know there it was on the home page - on the left hand column it lists many conditions/diseases and when I clicked on one, like ours, and others, there was a page of good information and a link to the support site.  That's exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks, MM, for wanting to help out there, but I found what I need!

I thought I'd add another resource, which is one of your "competitor" blogs-About.com's Depression blog. Their latest blog article deals with the very pertinent issue of more cases of multiple psych meds being used to treat Depression & other mental illnesses. The link to this particular blog is below:

Hi Merely Me, thanks for the list of Resources, I suffer from anxiety badly too so its a double whammy for me, plus mood swings, so I will go visit the other sites.

I managed to change to Firefox so thank goodness I can get access again. Laughingx

Thank you Merely Me for sharing this important information on how to approach depression and deal with it.  I have had depression for three years and appreciate any help I can get.  I see a therapist every 3-4 weeks and take generic Paxil daily.  I also have anxiety and take Lorazepam when needed.  I recently was hired by Hertz corporation into their management training progam.  I had been fired from my previous job and was out of work for three years except for a short period when I worked at the local McDonalds as a counter crew member.  I hope my new job helps me feel more useful and the routine relieves some of my depression and anxiety. Again thank you for your contibutions and comments.  Be well.

You have left out the best site--patientslikeme.com

They not only have a forum, but also help you chart your symptoms and your provider is invited to join in. They have provided me with incomparable help and support since I joined this past summer. There is a group of such wonderful, caring, and insightful people on their forum and they have really helped me through some depressive episodes.

If you haven't checked them out, do yourself a favor and visit their site!
