Hi, this is new to me. I was deleting some emails from this site, as well as other automatic messages I get that is building up to over a thousand email messages, and I realistically cannot read all of them. They have been on since 2008. Not so much this website, but others. I have to be careful of not overwhelming myself with too much information and this leads to a lot of saved paper, etc. that it affects my brain and mood.
I came here to respond to a message on Visual Art to help with life's goals and depression. I have been working on a Dream Poster and it has been making a difference. Before that, I had some sessions with Psychologist I worked with 20 years ago.
Anyway, I have been basically going through the motions of healthy living, taking my meds, Cymbalta, Temazepam and Wellbutrin, which two of them are generic. I switched to Serzone (generic these days) as I feel I have been gaining weight from other antidepressants such as Effexor, and I was on Prozac for a year and it lost its power and I gained weight. Some of these increased my appetite.
Well, changing to this med again, and starting HRT, and I think suffering from either an allergy cold or a cold that was hard to get rid of. I was not feeling good at all nor had any energy. To compound this my sheltie collie, had to be put to sleep after an injury, I was concerned for him during the 2 weeks that he received care, I did find the right Vet to work with me. He was very kind and concerned, the staff was as well. Unlike the ER animal hospital who seemed very cold.
This dog was my best bud for 9 years and was my therapy dog for 6 years after my son committed suicide at age 15 1/2, 6 years ago. I was heartbroken...and depressed, it was like my son's death, but a bit different. I went through the same grieving process. So when I spoke with my Med Dr, I told him about my dog, and that I have been wanting to call him for the last month. He immediately sent me to my marriage counselor who happened to have joined this office of mental health Drs.. I had visits twice a week and then my husband was called in to join me.
The 8 visits were free through some EAP program with my insurance company. That took a lot of weight off of my shoulders. This Dr was going to leave the US on Sabbatical to Brazil soon.
So we didn't have much time to work together and today is our last visit.
Anyway, I'm doing so much better and happier. Our marriage is better and I'm working on a dream poster. There's more to tell...
This is just a quick beginning on this new program here, so I hope I did it right?
