First some background: I have been depressed again for a month or so following a bad anxiety attack due to pressure of paying off credit card debt and general financial problems.   I have been taking Depakote and Celexa for about 6 months now (usually I experience mild chronic depression).&nbs...

    Hey there

Just wanted you to know about some resources out there for folk having trouble paying for their meds...I just wrote an article about this which you can read here.

So how did your doctor's visit go?  Will you stay on your meds?

Sometimes the prescribed meds are a lot cheaper than alternative methods.  I take SAM-e which is costing me quite a bit out of pocket.

Your mental health is worth a lot so really think about this.

Keep writing...I really like your positive spirit!

I am staying on my meds after consulting with my doc.  I was taking a low dose of Celexa daily but now she has upped the dosage.  The good news is since it is still a generic, the copay remains the same.  I was on Depakote to stabilize my mood but we decided since my problem leans towards the anxiety/depression and I don't really experience manic episodes, I would go off the Depakote.  That is one less expense.

So, it all turned out fine.  I somehow knew it would but the worries carry me away.  Before I knew it I was imagining it would be costing me hundreds a month to get meds and I would fall into a bottomless pit if I didn't get them, lol.  Oh, well, guess that is the thing about anxiety.

I tried this stuff...and unfortunately it made me very sick.  It does work for some people but compare prices..

    Good luck

If you have a wal mart close to you..

you can tell them you don't have any insurance and get the generics for $4.00 as long as it is on their list.  You can go online to see if it is---you might pay less even still.

I had to lie and tell them I had no insurance because even with my health insurance it cost me sometimes $45 for 30 days...

The prescription companies cause this--so don't feel guilty...

Actually, big Pharma has several programs for people that cannot afford their medications. Go to the manufacturer web site and see if they have a program for the particular medication you need.

SOY DE LA OPINION DE QUE LE DIGAS A TU MEDICO TE CAMBIE EL MEDICAMENTO, QUE SEA PARECIDO Y ESTE EN EL MERCADO DE GENERICOS.

HAY MUCHICIMOS MEICAMENTOS. CLARO DEBE DE HABER UNO QUE TE CAIGA BIEN.Laughing
