my dr just upped my daily dosage to 20 mg/day. i've been having this cloudy feeling that lasts pretty much all day but is really bad in the mornings. will this eventually go away? also, i'm hungry ALL THE TIME. if this keeps up i'll gain a ton of weight & that's not good, considering i could stand to lose a bunch as it is. has anyone experienced these things?

I was on Lexapro for a while and I also had that cloudy, hazy feeling pretty much all day long. I didn't feel that I was benefiting much from the drug so I asked my doc if there was something better. I was also taking Pristiq. He upped my Pristiq and took my off the Lexapro and put my on Zoloft. I can't say that the cloudyness is any different but at least the change has helped my depression. Since depression is caused by a chemical embalance in the brain, the anti-depressant type and dosage will be different for diferent people. As will the side effects and how intense the side affects may be.
I hope that you can find that balance point. I'm not saying that I don't have to work hard at making myself get up and do things. I am saying that if a can make myself get up and read or work in the garden or mow the yard or whatever. I feel so much better when I do. I hate that we have to work so hard to feel like the normals do with no effort but, I have resigned myself to the fact that we MI's learn to appreciate things much more because we have to work so hard to get there. Shows how we are all different, one of the side effects of Lexapro listed here supposedly is a loss of appetite. It lists tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness and more as possible side effects and if they persist to call the doctor.
They don't define persist so I would call the doctor and ask them if it will go away, or how long they want you to wait. The doctor prescribed the increase and will definitely want to know what is happening with you. Make sure they know about the appetite and anything else you've experienced since the increase. I'll be hoping for you.
