3 Positives For The Day:

Coming off of a major depressive episode, I am trying to find ways to find some iota of joy in each day...and to my surprise...I am quite proud of this exercise I thought up to do for myself. I made a pact with my cousin who also suffers from depression to do this every day with each other ....we write "3 Positives For The Day".....keep them in a notebook and write them EVERYDAY whether we feel like it or not!

So I wanted to share this exercise with you all in hopes that my little tool of trying to feel better may help others as well. Find 3 positives of each day...even if they are simple like "got out of bed, ate, took meds"....it doesn't matter how simple or complex they are as long as they are positive things you have done for yourself. I have found even though I had to force myself, this week one of my big positives was "forcing myself to go to dinner with my family for Dad's birthday" .... and I actually realized after the fact while writing this that is really was positive and I derived some enjoyment getting out and being with family despite my depression. I am really quite proud of myself for coming up with this "exercise" and hope it may inspire others to try it.

Today I  already know one of my positives for the day is writing this post -- hoping it will help and inspire others!  Please let me know if you have ever done this exercise or something similar or if you are trying it out.

Best wishes...

Jenny :-)
