Yesterday I went to my appointment with my psychiatrist. It was terrible. She told me that I am setting my hopes to high and need to be more realistic. She said that I should just stick to the womens group that I go to instead of going to the PTSD group that I really want to go to. She said I wasn't ready for it. When I asked for one on one therapy again she told me that it was too intense and that she didn't feel I was ready for it.

How frustrating. I feel like now is the time for me to begin to heal. This is my time to begin my new future. So, I am going to look for a private therapist. That way I can start working on myself. Anyhow. I have to run. I hope all is well for everyone.

Was I expecting too much?

Seriously?  She said you weren't ready for a PTSD group nor for one on one therapy?  I would think that group therapy would be more intense than individual therapy.  What were her reasons?

I think you know yourself well and you should seek out the treatments you feel will benefit you the most.  But that is just my opinion.
