Does anyone think that eating different can help with depression?

It's early and quiet, so my minds racing in a hundred different directions. I was just wondering why the doctors are so quick to perscribe medications. Why have depression and suicidal thoughts?

I will just say to start out with that I have been living with depression since 1998 - although I must say that I have had bouts of depression all throughout my life.
