i am so tired of the emotions

I am so tired of emotions. I am being told by others that all goes through it. I don't understand why we have to go through emotions so deeply while trying to go through so much other stuff. I just realized my wife has been suffering from depression since the day I met her. At the base of her depression is severe anger for an event in her childhood that was never acknowledged.
