Depression can be prevented in some cases, or the risk of developing it at least minimized. This is achieved through mental strengthening and preparation, sometimes referred to as mental wellness. Depending on a person’s risk of developing depression there are also different programs and prevention methods to help them. Prevention strategies strengthen the mind’s ability to cope with stress and challenges.
