Q: is depression dominant or recessive?

Hello Melissa,

 

Sorry about the delay getting back to you on this. There is a gene 5-HTT that is thought to increase the possibility that a person will get major depression. But because there isn't one definitive gene that is known to control depression the ability to say that depression is either dominant or recessive is nearly impossible. I hope this was helpful.
