Q: Blood Test to show which is the right Antidepressant to be taken

Is there any Blood Test to know which antidepressant will be suitable for

a person instead of trying various medicines.

Hello, from what I have read there is a blood test called Cytochrome P450 Genetic Test, here is a link to the article from the Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.org/depression/cytochrome.html supposedly it can determine how your body will metabolize different medications. Good luck!!! I am pushing my boyfriend to get this test as the first medication he tried failed to help him.

But will this P 450 Cytochrome test be able to advise the doctor to give

the right Antidepressant.
