I too have alot of stress and pressures in my life.  I take xanax 3 times a day. It keeps me calm and I am able to deal with life and its sressfulness.  You have to be very careful and not take it more than prescribed by the doctor because it can be habit forming. It can really calm you down and let you be able to live life with a calmness that other drugs can't offer.

Xanax is addictive.  However, it is also an excellent answer if you suffer from extreme anxiety/panic disorder.  I have taken it on and off for 20yrs.  I have tried therapy and prozac and lexipro, none of the above did the trick that xanax does. I am not at all happy that I resort to drugs to function, but this is the brain chemistry that I was born with....the yrs I lived without it, were filled with drinking too much wine and dysfunction.  Everyone's situation is different.

I agree - thank God for xanax. I have also had panic/anxiety for years and xanax never fails to help. I know drugs are not the best way, but when it helps you cope and deal with life and do normal things, it's a God send.

I am an 80 yr. old who has survived 3 brain surgeries (aneursyms) when in my 50's.  I take Xanax three times a day. I is .25 mg.   My life is very stressful right now.  Do I dare take any more?
