Does anyone else's mental pain make you feel physically ill?
my mental anguish when it's at it's worst is so painful that it feels like my entire body is just one big ache. Also, since I've been taking zoloft it's difficult to cry even when I really feel like I need to.
Dear nutty, I know exactly what you mean. I believe the mind is very closely connected to the body so for me ewhenever I feel bad mentally in my depression I can feel very sick at times. Whenever I get nervous or even if I am around people who tend to be negative it can effect me.Just a couple of weeks ago I was going through an extremely unusual circumstance and it continued nonstop for a week . I became nauseous and tried to my myself vomit because my stomach was hurting and I felt sick at my stomach at the same time. So my answer to your comment is I know how mental anguish can make you sick and hurt. I hope you get to feeling better,P.H

I'm no doctor, but i can attest to mental pain manifesting itself as physical pain. I feel it in my body, everywhere when im stressed, nervous, etc. it can drive you mad. as for zoloft, i've never taken it. I've not really found a solution for this. I drink, and it helps, but that just causes other problems. Sorry im not much more help than just being an affermation of your feelings. Take care.

Hey Nutty, I know what you are talking about. I felt just like that, but I also throw up and get dizzy. Back and body aches all the time, also spasms, acid reflux, heart burn. My girlfriend told me that your mental being controld your well being and that all makes alot of sence to me. Then you know our hormones play a big role in all of this to, so yes I really believe it's all related. How long on Zoloft? It didn't workk for me. I think the key is working with your doctor to come up with the right dosage for you everyone is different. You don't want to be over medicated so you can't feel pain. You should be able to express your feeling with tears there is nothing wrrong with that, but if you can't cry I think you are over medicated and all that will do is mask the pain. I had went through that as well. Let me know how you feel.

I've been on zoloft for 5 years now. It's the only thing that helps me. I hate taking it because of the sexual side effects but when I try to go off of it it's NOT pretty! Around Thanksgiving I had a really bad bout and I was crying every day for two weeks until I increased my zoloft to 300mg. That immediately helped. Now that the days are longer (I get very depressed when the sun goes down early in the winter) I've been taking 200mg and hopefully soon I can go down to 150. Thankfully my depression has been under control the past couple of months (knock on wood). Thanks for all of your compassionate responses!

You are clairsentient. You feel the pain of others. You are psychicly sensitive. I know a lot about this, I'v been studying for many years. And I too am clairsentient as well as being psychic in other ways. You are also a very sensitive person. You need to take special care of yourself by taking regular baths in epsom salts with perhaps some lavender essential oil drops. There are other alternative therapies that will help you as well. Energy balance, chakra balance are two of many. Learn more about that and use it to your advantage.

I have that problem too. Right now my mind is telling my body not to go on with the day. I hate it. I get so sick to my stomach - I want to vomit, but am too scared to stick my finger down my throat. My days seem to get longer each day. My nights are intolerable... my anxiety kicks in and I am screwed. The next day, I am suffering, but I don't care.
I really dont know what to say about the meds you are taking because I am not taking any. I did try to take some anti depressants, but my body was rejecting them, making me break out. I took is as a sign so I stopped taking them. I hope my answer helps a little. I know words can sometimes help
