I went through this withdrawal (effexor) and it was tough to say the least. It lasted for months.I had to be strong and went on wellbutrin. To me it was safer and I was on it before effexor.Talk to your doctor but I would get off of effexor if I was you for good!Make the doctor help you... Reply

I had this same probem with Paxil. My doctor put me on a similar antidepressant that was easier to withdraw from. I'm sorry--I don't remember which one (I do know it was NOT effexor. Maybe Prosac?). Anyway, I made an easy transition from the Paxil to the other and then was able to get off of that one really easily. Maybe your doctor will know which one will work. If not, let me know and I'll call my doctor to have her check my file. I then went on Wellbutrin, which turned out for me to be a really horrible change. I am now trying Prestiq (just over a week), which seems to be working better than any of them have so far. Good luck.
