Q: I have been using 12mg Emsam (an MAOI) for 2 years. It seems that I have hit a plateau and it's not longer as effective. Is it possible to increase the dosage to 18mgs? Use a 12mg patch and a 6mg?

Hi, there.  We're not medical professionals on this site, so I need to tell you to speak with your doctor about this.  I have no idea how much of this drug is okay to take.  I used to take an MAOI years ago and I know I had to be very careful with it.  It could be that you need something different if this is not working, so please speak with your doctor.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but thank you for your question.
