Q: Can I take Zoloft and Prestiq concurrently

I have been on Zoloft (200 mg) for about 8 years and in the last 2 have noticed a decrease in its efficacy.  For the past few weeks I have been having episodes that are characterized by either rages or extreme lows.  My doctor put me on Prestiq today?  Can I take Prestiq and Zoloft concurrently?

This is something you need to ask your doctor. The prescribing information says to use caution when using Pristique and other serotonergic drugs, which would include Zoloft. In addition to considering those two medications, your doctor needs to consider all other medications and supplements you're taking as well as any other medical conditions you may have.
