Q: i dont think my mum will believe me when i say i think i have bipolar, how do i tell her?

every time i tell my mum something is wrong with me, she just give me that "yeah right" look. i dont want her to be like that with this because i strongly belive i have bipolar and i dont want it effecting the rest of my life, so i want help. i need to think of a way to tell her so that she will take it seriously.

I'm so sorry to hear about your difficulty in this situation. Many times family and friends simply "blow off" our cries for help because they don't understand mental illness. That is a dirty word to a lot of people. On the other hand, some people think that Bi-Polar disorder is some sort of made up disease use as an excuse for our "self centeredness" or "paranoia" etc. They equate those things with being self-serving, feeling sorry for ourselves or whatever word they want to use for what they think we are.  Please find some way to get to a Dr., even if you have to fake some kind of pain. Then explain the whole situation to the Dr. They will know how to approach your Mom and get you the help you need.  I am no expert, just give advice from my own life experiences living with Bi-Polar disorder.
