Q: is 450mg of effexor daily a very high dose?is it dangerous?

The stated maximum dosage id 375mg per day. However, as with most medications, doctors sometimes take the dosage higher if it's beneficial to the patient. If you're working with your doctor, I know of no reason it would be dangerous. If your doctor has prescribe this dosage, and you're concerned, discuss it with your doctor. If you're still concerned, you're certainly entitled to a second opinion.

I took Effexor at a dose of 150mgs a day. I think you should try a different antidepressent. Sometimes 2 antidepressents together are more effective
