Hi there

I would be a lot more concerned about the withdrawal symptoms from Effexor should you ever stop taking this medication...they seem to be considerable.  Ask your doctor about this.

In the meantime here is an article which talks about possible Wellbutrin withdrawal symptoms:

"As with any medication, it is important to consult a physician before discontinuing Wellbutrin treatment. An estimated 30% of patients who discontinue Wellbutrin experience withdrawal symptoms. The symptoms are frequently attributed to "flu like" effects such as muscle aches, headaches, nausea etc. These usually last 1 to 2 weeks."

I hope the switch goes well and the new medication works for you.  Please tell us how it goes.

thank you for the reply, so far I have only had some minor nausea, which may just be a side affect of the effexor and not even related to the wellbutrin. the pharmacist told me that I shouldnt have a problem with just switching and not weaning off of the wellbutrin so I guess I will just ride it out whichever it is because its not bad at all. I even think I feel a bit better as far as depression goes and its only been 2 days. the wellbutrin worked well for me at first but I feel like I had that great honeymoon period that everyone talked about and then it just stopped working, I have been tired alot and just havent felt like doing much for the last 2 months on wellbvutrin I hope that effexor helps me because I have tried about everything else for my depression and nothing seems to help.
