I am taking amitriptyline & it greatly helps my fibromyalgia pain symptoms. And my sleep is much better too.(25 mg) But I am still very depressed.  More so in the fall/winter.  What can I safely take with it & what dosage?  No one seems to want to help me.  Fibro & depression (all the books I have read say get your Dr's to find a treatment plan that works for you) but all of the Dr.s that I have seen rush me out the door....I wish I knew what treatments were best for me.  Do I need special shoes because my feet get extremely sore when standing?  Do I have ADHD?  UGH!  At least the Amitriptyline helps enough that I am not on the couch all day with a heating pad :]

I am about to see a chiro. again, but am worried that this may be a big waste of money & time.

Hi, there.  Have you seen a psychiatrist at all?  I don't know what is safe to take with amitriptyline, but I'm sure there is something.  Something else that's supposed to work when you have seasonal depression (SAD) are these light boxes that are made just for that purpose.  It's thought that the lack of sunlight causes depression.  Probably, the chronic pain from the fibromyalgia is contributing to the depression, too, I would think.  I don't know if a chiropractor can help much, but you could try massage or even acupuncture, which some chiropractors do.

I'm sorry you're having to suffer so much with this, and I hope you can find the help you need.  It's very frustrating to feel like nobody cares.  Feel free to write again any time and keep us posted.
