Hi June,   Certain food products are considered to stimulate the natural production of serotonin. The internet is bloated with ads selling products designed to stimulate serotonin naturally - but of course this assumes you have a serotonin deficiency. Serotonin is a naturally occuring substance in the body and also acts as a neurotransmitter. The action of SSRI medication (e.g. fluoxetine) is to keep serotonin in the brain. In terms of a prescription for natural serotonin - I've never heard of this - unless you mean 'prescription' via a herbalist or someone similar? St.John's Wort a well known treatment for depression is considered by some as a Natural Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor (SNRI).
