Hello!

Depression is a personal health issue for me...

Hello,

Medications can take time to work. Depakote can take up to three months to really kick in.

Have you mentioned how you're feeling to the doctor who prescribes your medications? Are you getting counseling / therapy along with the medications? If you're not in counseling, talk to your doctor about a referral to a psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor as well as talking to him about your medications. Sometimes, good counseling can be an enormous help, even if you only need it while waiting for your regimen of meds to be perfected.

Best wishes,

Teri Robert

I fully understand what you are going through. You are not alone. I am 29 y/o male. I have been a life long sufferer of major depression, panic disorder, and anorexia. Last Thursday I was finally discharged from the hospital after I gained "acceptable" weight. My psychiatrist put me on Depakote ER 1,000 mg. It's only been a week, but it has been my renewed leap of faith in God that has really pulled me through to this day. Please understand you are not alone. I will keep you in my prayers.
