Drowsiness and fatigue are fairly common side effects of medication, although even if you were not on any medication, you may feel like this because of your depression.   People unfamiliar with depression will frequently say things that are unhelpful. Like most unhelpful comments, they can sting, especially when they come from someone close.   Depression is often linked with anxiety and this can result in moments almost like an emotional tsunami.   What I'm saying here is that nothing you have said in your question is unfamiliar or unusual. If you can reduce your levels of stress, get a little daily exercise, focus on a balanced diet and take things a day at a time you may slowly begin to feels things turn in your favor. Psychological therapy for depression is also very effective and an option I would urge you to consider.   Hope this helps   Jerry
