I live alone, have no friends that visit, or that I visit. I have no contact with family, including my son. My job is frustrating and unrewarding, in fact jobs have alway been frustrating. I have been to shrinks since I was 8 years old and I am 50 and still need a shrink, therapy has not helped. I guess I should be strapped down and medicated but even that does not fix what is wrong.

Hi Fred

I saw your question and had to respond.  First of all I am so sorry you are going through this bad time.  Your asking this question tells me two things, one that you do feel at the end of your rope, but more hopefully, you are wanting to seek help.

It seems that you are very frustrated with the help that you have been given.  For whatever reason it has not been enough to stop you from feeling depressed.

But let's focus on right now.

You are using the word, suicide, in your question and of course this is a huge concern to me.  To answer...suicide gravely and permanently limits your choices to none.  And it doesn't solve anything.  Sometimes it does seem that we are all alone.  But there are people out there who have been where you are emotionally.  It is time to reach out.

I am here to tell you that it is not too late.  You do have choices in your life even if you can't see them right now.  You are important.  You matter.

Please reach out and talk to someone.  There is an on-line support group right here with lots of folk going through similar things.

I hope you come back and tell us how you are doing.  Please hang in there.
