Hi Lorig

Have you told your doctor that the zoloft doesn't seem to be working for you?  After four months it should be helping some.  Perhaps the dosage needs to be adjusted or else maybe you just need to try a new antidepressant.  There are a lot to choose from.  So please don't give up hope.  With depression, you just have to keep trying until you get the right med and the right dosage for you.

Please hang in there!

Lorig, as you probably know, there are a lot of medications made for depression, any one or combination may begin to make you feel better, but those are in your doctor's hands.

There are even natural substances that may help. All should be supervised by a physician in conjunction with anything else you are taking.

Have you tried seeing a therapist at all? Sometime, drugs are not enough to pull you out of that hole.

As for motivation you may find this  article and this one, helpful.

Hi lorig - I have taken both these medications.  The way my doctor and I solved my problem was to give me both medications.  The Zoloft helps with things like panic and the Lexapro is a help to the depression.  I am currently on 20 mg of Lexapro, once a day and a 1 mg tablet of Zoloft that I can take as much as three times a day if needed.  On a "normal" day, if there is such a thing, I can usually get by with just one of each.  Try asking your doctor about this combination for you.  It has really worked great for me.
