I'm not sure about depression causing that, but I think there are a few medications that might, so you should really check with your doctor if that's what you're experiencing.  And it may have nothing to do with depression, it could be something neurological, so all the more reason to check with a doctor.

Hi there

Can you tell us in more detail about your gait and speech difficulties?

Have you been to a doctor to get these symptoms checked out?  Are you having any cognitive difficulties, any dizziness, any feeling off balance....any vision problems?

Write all of your symptoms down so that you may bring this list to your doctor.

Judy asked a good question...are you taking any meds?  Are you using any recreational drugs?  Alcohol?

Let us know more...and do see your doctor!

oh and about the speech........i think it's because i get nervous when i talk to people...i stutter,,,trip over words,,,stop in the middle of sentences(  which i have come to know as THOUGHT BLOCKING) ,,have a hard time starting conversations......i think it's a result of anxiety/social phobia......im just not sure though

In the past ... at some time ....you have protected yourself by not speaking out...perhaps someone told you you shouldn't or perhaps you thought safer in not doing so...now is the time to speak out...go on...take the plunge...send me a message if you don't want to do it in public!...just speak out now...you deserve to take care of yourself by expressing your repressed emotions! Yes ..but socan a lot of other things... like side effects of medications, brain tumours, parkinsons, MS....spinal misalignments..etc.So best to rule out any medical probs first ...you'll at least feel a lot better if they say there's nothing seriously wrong.... On the latter cause I mentioned(spinal misalignments) given your speech difficulties do you have a neck ache or base of the neck(where your neck meets you shoulderline) ache? Please do let me know as sometimes this can cause stuttering and stammers !
