Hi Silverfox

It is good to see you.

Okay so...just to make sure we have this right...you are stopping Prozac and going on Celexa and you are already taking Wellbutrin and you are also using Xanax for anxiety.

Well I will give you some information about Prozac but from my personal experience...Prozac is one medication which reportedly does not have much in the way of withdrawal symptoms.

I did answer this question for another member and you can view my answer here.  In researching this I found that prozac withdrawal symptoms can include tiredness, headache and anxiety but that these go away in a short time.

I am thinking that you will be able to tolerate this change.  But do discuss all this with your doctor.

Okay so do you also want to know about Celexa?  Follow that link to find out what other members have said about their experience taking this medication.

I hope this helps.  Let us know how things go.

hi Merely Me , thanks for that information and u have all that right . but, my big concern now isn't withdrawal from prozac . it's from celexa  in the event i had to stop taking it . i went through withdrawal coming off cymbalta & i guess it could of been even worse but, i had read to take 20 mgs. of prozac to help with that . and that's how i started taking proxac from 20 mg to 40 mg to 60 mg . and it worked great for about 9 months . then i started again with depression & panic attacks . i'm confused that maybe i should stick with the prozac & hopefully the welbutrin will kick in . i didn't like prozac as i gained 30 lbs & i'm over weight as it is .depression made it hard for me to exercise . plus i get dizzy from meds & lose my balance alot . have to be careful in the shower & walking . i fell once tripped on the step going up my porch . i fell on my face & seen all this blood though i knocked my teeth out . i looked like i got beat up . still had my teeth but, i could of broken my nose . thanks for being there this site helps me alot  silverfox46Undecided

Oh my!

I am sorry you fell down like that.  I understand feeling dizzy...I have that as a symptom of my Multiple Sclerosis.  It can be scary...and especially when you fall down.  You be careful!

Okay...I understand...you want to know what celexa will do if you go off of it.  Let me research for you.

Here is our information about Celexa Withdrawal Symptoms:

"This medication may cause withdrawal reactions, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in high doses. In such cases, withdrawal symptoms (such as nervousness, headache, numbness, tingling, trouble sleeping, nightmares) may occur if you suddenly stop using this medication. To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may reduce your dose gradually. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details, and report any withdrawal reactions immediately."

I hope this helps you.  It is a hard decision isn't it?  If the prozac is no longer working...maybe this medication will.  You won't know until you try.  Talk to your doctor and let us know what happens!

Thanks for reaching out here.
