Hi Joan!

Are you taking the 80 mg under your doctor's advice?  Prozac is known to be one of those medications where it can "poop out" after awhile.  What does your doctor say?  I know some people take folate or Deplin to increase the effectiveness of their antidepressant.  Others take Abilify in addition to the antidepressant....and still others take a combo of meds.  I would keep a record of your symptoms and the dosage you are on...so that you will have a detailed description of what is going on.

The thing is...no pill is going to totally eradicate your depression...you usually have to do other things too...go to therapy, change your diet, exercise, find a meaningful passion, etc.  Meds are just one tool in your arsenal...the more tools you have the better you will be.

Let us know what your doc says about your medication and if he or she makes a change.  Sometimes it takes a while to find the combination of meds/therapy which work for you.

Thank you for your question!
