Q: What happens if Celexa is taken too much-two ior three pills per day?

My husband has been on Celexa for about a year, but in the last few months he has been taking at least two pills per day. He says he has to as they calm him down and enable him to deal with the pressures and stress of his job.

What is or can this do to his body and mind? Can he overdose on Celexa?

I would certainly call the Dr. right away.  Something is going on with him.  He could just need his doseage upped, but that needs to be done by the Dr.  I think you can over dose on any medication if you have taken too much.  PLEASE make that call for him.

A dosage of any anti-depressant is determined by a licensed professional.

if your husband is varying his dosage, something is up; at the very least, he probably isn't communicating these variations to his therapist/psychiatrist/physician.

He needs to work TOGETHER with them (and other members of his support network, like YOU) to determine the proper, SAFE treatment plan (which includes his dosage of medication).
